Joining Te Rōpū Whakahau
Te Rōpū Whakahau is a growing association of Māori in working in library and information management.
Te Rōpū Whakahau offers an extensive support network across Aotearoa New Zealand for Māori library and
information workers. This support ranges from regional and national activities to simply socialising with other members.
Te Rōpū Whakahau also embraces Māori working in museums, galleries and archives.
Members' benefits
Personal members of Te Rōpū Whakahau are entitled to:
- Join the Te Rōpū Whakahau general mailing list
- Printed copies of the quarterly pānui posted free of charge to your mailing address
- Discounts for attendance at the Hui-ā-tau
- Attendance at members' rates to the annual LIANZA conference due to the partnership agreement with
LIANZA
How do I join?
There are four types of subscription to Te Rōpū Whakahau:
- Personal membership - new member: $20.00
- applicant must be of Māori descent
- entitled to one vote at the annual general meeting (AGM)
- Personal membership - renewing member: $50.00
- applicant must be of Māori descent
- entitled to one vote at AGM
- Associate membership: $50.00
- any individual, group or institution
- no vote at AGM
- Institutional membership: $100.00
- Māori group, organisation or institution
- entitled to one vote at AGM
Subscriptions are valid for one financial year beginning each June. To apply
for membership to Te Rōpū Whakahau, download a membership form, fill out your details and the type of membership applied for, and send the completed form
along with the appropriate payment to:
